New, Smaller Design
TP-LINK's TL-PA211 powerline adapter takes advantage of your home's existing electrical wires to transfer data while simultaneously transferring traditional power.
That means, with no additional wiring required, users can simply plug the TL-PA211 into existing power sockets and instantly establish a networking infrastructure.
With high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps, users can enjoy HD video streaming, online gaming, VoIP or any other bandwidth intensive tasks for work or play.
Super Small Design
With its new ultra-compact housing design, TP-LINK's TL-PA211 is much smaller than most other 200Mbps Powerline Products. At just 30mm thick and with its high quality, elegant white shell, it nearly blends completely in front of any power outlet.
Up to 200Mbps, 300 Meters
With advanced HomePlug AV technology, TL-PA211 provides users with stable, high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps on a line length of up to 300 meters.
Together with its built-in Qos and powerful AES encryption, the TL-PA211 is a great choice for a whole home solution to connect all network compatible devices--from computers and game consoles to set-top boxes for IPTV to printers and NAS hard drives.
Twin Pack Design
A PLC (powerline) connection is established by transmitting data through the electrical wires between two outlets, so it requires at least two PLC adapters plugged into those two outlets to complete the network.
With twin pack design, the starter kit is ideal for new users establishing their first PLC network or experienced users intent on expanding their networks.
Reduces Power Consumption Up to 65%
The TL-PA211, a new-generation Powerline Adapter, with its practical design and sophisticated Power-Saving Mode consumes less power when compared with existing Powerline Adapters.
When there is no data transmission or reception occurs over a certain period of time, it will automatically switch from its regular "Working" Mode to "Power-Saving" Mode that will reduce its energy consumption by up to 65%*.
*Actual data will vary because of the network conditions and environmental factors

they arrived the next day from dispatched, opened them up plugged one in downstairs connected the Ethernet wire (which came with it) in to my router went ups stairs plugged the other one into the wall then connected it with the other Ethernet wire (that came with it) into my desktop and it connected instantly the reason i brought these is because i could not even get a wireless signal in my bedroom in my new house which is a good bit away from the router. I have used this for gaming and i have gotten the best connection i have ever had with them. i would recommend to any one to buy these adapters they do exactly what they say.
It took me an hour or so but I've now got 4 of these working fine with data rates from 150 to 80 Mbps. The lowest is remote from the other 3 and on a 4-way extension lead, so no real surprise. This is why I've given 5 stars overall. I started out by following the instructions and holding the "link" button in for 8s on the 1st adapter and then running through the house to do the same on the next adapter. This wasn't too successful. I then installed the SW utilities that came with the adapters on my Win XP box. These allow you to reset the adapter directly connected to the machine running the SW utilities and view the other adapters on the network. Once they had all been reset they signed in OK without me needing to press the "link" button. This was a bit fiddly and is the reason for the 3 stars for ease of use. Great for video streaming from my router to my Sony TV.
Just plug them in and switch on. Provided you can switch the second one on within 2 minutes of the first one, there are no problems.
This works well as long as both plugs are on the same ring main. In most houses that means the same floor. In our case to go from downstairs to upstairs the signal had to go all the way to the switchbox in the garage and then back, and bandwidth (as reported by the included tool) went down to 20 Mbit. Between rooms on the same floor we get 180-200 Mbit.
The plugs only have 100 Mbit Ethernet ports, so you will never see the claimed 200 Mbit unless you have another pair of plugs running data in parallel.
This kit really is as easy to set up as the description suggests, though if you want to increase security by creating a private network you'll have to install a utility on a Windows PC.
I'm getting a link speed of 160 Mbps with one adapter on the downstairs ring main and the other on the upstairs one. Just remember not to plug either end into a power strip as that will totally kill the performance.
I've subtracted one star from the overall rating for the stingy 1 metre Ethernet cables included in the pack. 2 metres would have been much more like it!
I going back to hard wired network.
