Connect SATA drives to old motherboards
This does pretty much what you'd expect - plug it into the motherboard's IDE socket, connect power to it using the included Molex splitter, connect your new SATA drive to the included SATA cable.
The adaptor is very low profile, it fitted into my 1U server case no problems (it is actually shorter than the memory) - which was why I chose this rather than some of the alternatives.
My old EPIA M1000 mini-ITX server is now running happily with a 1.5TB SATA drive attached rather than the old 200GB IDE drive.
What is missing is a means of powering your SATA drive. Unless your PSU has the new style power connectors, you'll need a molex to SATA power adapter, like 78W9WS00. Luckily I'd realised this and added one to my order.
