First ... for a very small charge the router arrived with in 2 days in a very processionally packing so there is not need for a special delivery, unless you need it ... so credits to yodel currier and Thanks to BT.com giving good delivery options and great products. The router is one of the best in the market that handles 2 internet connections & i guess that is the reason why we are after the 2920n. The benefit is that you can use your favourite modems and let the 2920n handle them and is does it good enough with many options and services build in,which is useless to repeat them. Wi-Fi for what is delivering (2.4 GHZ only) believe me it does it very well and is from the strongest in the 2.4 category. The good about it, is the external antennas which if you adjust their angle can get very good spot. All in ALL you can not go wrong with BT.com & DrayTek ... is my second shopping for a Draytek & if i need any other item i will come back to BT.com because i feel secure by now
Upgrading to fibre (FTTC), needed a router capable of handling 8 static IP addresses to replace my aging Draytek Vigor 2800G. This capability is not generally publicised, so I eventually settled on another Draytek router just to be certain it could handle WAN IP Alias.
In preparation I had already upgraded my LAN to Gigabit Ethernet, but the step up in performance from ADSL to FTTC with this router has been a revelation, upload and download speeds within a whisker of the maximums quoted for my service.
Sadly we all have to download a shed-load of adverts just to get through the web pages we need day-to-day. But at least I now have a combination which loads this rubbish more-or-less instantly so I can get on with my life.
Not everyone has multiple static IPs, so this may be an expensive choice for some.
But I am quietly confident that the Vigor 2920n will carry me from IPv4 to IPv6 when the time comes.
