Seems to be a lot of confusion regarding these things. It is possible to 'pair' multiple sets together irrespective of what BT support might tell you!
We have 1x Hotspot Plus Kit and an Extender 600 kit all working happily in the house ie. you don't have to throw the base away as suggested.
Follow the instructions carefully it's just a matter of when to press and hold buttons.
I got this on sale so I can't complain about the price. It was also as simple to set up as plugging in and switching on, connect on my device and away we go, a faster wireless connection than coming directly off my old BT Hub. The only downside is that they are physically bigger than I had expected, particularly their depth (how much they hang off and away from the wall) but not unmanageable.
I bought a Hotspot kit to see if worked in one area of my home. It did, absolutely fantastic. HOWEVER, I then went online to try and buy more range extenders for other rooms in my home and it seems you can't buy just the extenders, you can only buy them in kits so presumably you use the extenders and throw the 'base' one away? How ridiculous!
No improvement whatsoever (worse than wireless to router at times!) . Plugged Smart TV directly into it (ethernet) and it loses signal regularly - have since unplugged it and back to using wireless to router when watching netflix etc. and it's actually more consistent than the Hotspot. Also at the same time I purchased one for my granddaughter to have in her bedroom as she's quite a way from their router. Hers also is useless.
Complete waste of money.
Worked very well when purchased but the connection became intermittent after a couple of months, and now, after about 5 months, the product is almost useless.
If the ethernet ports on the extender are 10/100 Mbps how can the speed be up to 600Mbps?
if the ports were to connect at full-duplex, surely maximum throughput would be 100Mbps?
You would need 1Gbps Ethernet ports to reach 600Mbps throughout I would have thought.
