Bought this phone three weeks ago and what a blessing. No more cold calls, no more interrupted meals, do not disturb switched on, knowing that we we get up in a morning we are not going to be pestered by unwanted calls. Hands free is superb. Volume control for hand sets is so easy to alter.
As well as not being able to transfer telephone numbers from an old set to the new you also cannnot transfer a call from one (new) handset to another (for example, the bedroom one to the kitchen one). If, for example just one handset is off it's base unit/recharger and can't be found and you press find on the base/answer machine unit every 'phone rings to let you know where it is not JUST the ones(s) off the base unit(s)! The phone screen goes blank during a call so you have no idea if you still have a connection or not!
Still worth getting as the call blocking is good.
The sound quality is poor both with speaker on and off. I wanted to block nuisance calls but I have had to turn that function off because it partially bars all callers that have with-held numbers. Most of my incoming family calls have with-held numbers and it is hopeless having to get them to identify themselves. If I had known this, I would not have bought this set. I feel cheated by BT.
I purchased a BT8600 Quad for the full price (at that time) for £93.98. One year later, one or two weeks outside the order/delivery time the phones fail to operate. Initial contact with BT (via livechat) has proved disappointing. I was directed to ring a premium number (65p per minute) for assistance. I have been unable to contact a responsible person within the organisation to discus a way forward regarding this matter. I am currently utilising an old phone set (purchased from BT). Is there anyone from the organisation reading this review who would be able to speak with me directly to further discuss?
I purchased this phone & the software locks up which is a known fault, BT don't respond to your issues, the product stops working completely & you follow the fault reporting process via another company getting the required fault reference & they say that the phone should be replaced but BT don't respond & you get no replacement.
