ASUS cheesed me off mightily about 10 years ago with their customer support being in the toilet and this is the first product of theirs I have bought in about a decade.
I do bear grudges.
This monitor has the exact same panel as the Samsung 4K. The previous two monitors I have had have been Samsung and their stands are a PITA. The ability to adjust the monitor are just and insult. On the ASUS it's a joy.
With regard to controlling the OSD, although it is button controlled instead of a joystick, it's the best and most responsive control interface I've ever experienced (especially because I've three systems hooked up to it and switch quite a lot).
Text doesn't go wonky when switching resolutions, although I have found that 2560*1440 is the highest resolution I feel comfortable with.
I approached this monitor from the most negative standpoint (with regard to the company manufacturing it) imaginable.
Now I cannot write a review about an ASUS product without sounding like a fanboy.
This monitor is just pure joy to work with. Most of my work is software writing and I need lots of code on the screen at once... I certainly get it here, really crisp and clear. The fine text takes an hour or so to get used to but it is still much larger text than found on your average phone screen, then if you have to go back to 'standard' monitors they look really clunky and retro.
The only negative thing is that the buttons are a little fiddly but they only ever get used initially.
The big warning is that you will never want to go back to the HUGE writing on standard monitors again.
When setting up make sure Windoze hasn't decided for itself to scale your new 4K display to 150%
